Julie Elaine Hedges is the professional photographer and owner of JE Hedges Photography & Photo Booths, Inc. since 2000. Being recognized as a leader among all the talented photographers in our area is truly an honor.
Julie’s passion for photography started in elementary school and flourished in high school, where she photographed for the Yearbook Club and received her first wedding commission. Although photography was a significant interest, her primary focus at the time was on medicine. Julie took Health Occupations classes, interned at an Army base hospital, and earned her CPR certification, eventually teaching CPR courses. Her distinctive approach earned her a Gold Medal in the U.S. Skill Olympics.
After high school, Julie began college with a pre-med focus but changed direction after entering Corporate America. She quickly progressed from the mailroom to management and became a key organizer of corporate events for thousands of employees. During this time, Julie’s photography hobby thrived, and as demand increased, she officially launched JE Hedges Photography in September 2000. Shortly after, she left the corporate world to manage her business full-time, concentrating on events, weddings, and portrait sessions.
In 2011, Julie expanded her business by launching JE Hedges Photo Booths, the first photo booth rental service in Columbus, Georgia. By 2017, JE Hedges Photography, Inc. and JE Hedges Photo Booths merged to form JE Hedges Photography & Photo Booths, offering Enclosed Retro and Backdrop style Photo Booths.
By 2017, Julie had photographed over 721 weddings, averaging forty to fifty per year, and decided to pivot her business toward a focus on corporate clients, school and sports volume photography, military and formal events, and studio portraits. In 2019, after years of involvement with her family’s "Ludy Christmas Light Spectacular," she launched a Christmas-themed portrait service in partnership with "St. Nick of Columbus."
